Martin Gebhardt, oboe
Martin Gebhardt was born and grew up in Basel. He studied at the conservatories in Rotterdam and Zürich, where in 1988 he obtained his concert diploma under the guidance of  Thomas Indermühle. He took part in different chamber music masterclasses, and particularly the encounter  with flutist André Jaunet played an important role in his formation. Martin Gebhardt was solo oboe player of symphony orchestras in Switzerland and Germany till 1998. This musical activity allowed him to develop stylistically with personalities such as Efrem Kurtz, Antal Dorati, Kurt Sanderling, Yehudi Menuhin, Armin Jordan, Mario Venzago and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Nowadays, the founder of the Aulos Quartett devotes himself to chamber music and solo repertoire, as well as teaching.
